In partnership with Ernst & Young, LLP and InterAction, join us to learn more about how recent tax reform will impact nonprofits.

For the first time in more than 30 years, Congress has passed a historic tax bill. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act could have far-reaching effects on individuals, corporations, and tax-exempt organizations. Join us as we discuss with members of Humentum and InterAction the substance of the bill, the implications for tax-exempt organizations, and steps you may wish to consider as a result of these changes.

Topics will include:

  • The new excise taxes, and changes to existing unrelated business income tax, that organizations may be required to pay
  • Provisions altering the incentives for charitable contributions and restricting tax-exempt bond financing
  • Provisions that didn’t make it into this final bill but that may be re-proposed later, such as the change to the political campaign intervention rules
  • Tax accounting implications

CPE/Certificate of Completion Reminder

We expect this program to qualify for approximately one and a half (1.5) CPE/CE credits.

CPE/Certification of Completion for the in-person session:

To receive a certification of completion when attending the in-person session, EY is now leveraging the Quick Response (QR) technology for recording attendance and administering the session evaluation survey. Before attending the session, please take a moment to install a QR Reader App on your Smartphone. You can download the App by searching for “QR Code Reader” in your App Store or through Google Play. If you do not have a Smartphone, you may use your laptop to record your attendance by using the unique link or URL address that will be printed on the QR code sheet available on-site after the session.

It is important for you to confirm your attendance for this session in order to receive continuing education credits. When recording your attendance through either the QR code or link you will need to indicate if you were present for the whole session or a portion thereof. Please note that you must confirm your attendance at the program no later than midnight EST on the day of the event in order to receive CPE.

An email will be directed to you with your certification of completion within 10-15 business days after the January 9 session.

If you have questions on recording your attendance or completing the survey, you may contact the EY Learning Support Coordinator Kelsey Freebing at kelsey.freebing@ey.com.

Can't attend in person? We will also be hosting a virtual session on January 11 from 1:00-2:30 pm Eastern Time.

You’ll receive a confirmation email with all the information to join the live webcast session.

You’ll be able to hear the audio and see the slides on your computer — no telephone call is required.

CPE/Certification of Completion for the Webcast:

To receive your certification of completion, you must be connected to the webcast for 50 minutes and respond to all polling questions. While you may access the WebEx technology via some mobile phones and tablets, polling questions are not functional. Therefore, CPE cannot be awarded if you participate via mobile phone or tablet.

An email will be directed to you with your certification of completion within 10-15 business days after the January 11 session.

Webcast Replay Information

If you are unable to participate in the live webcast, a replay will be available shortly after the program. However, accessing a replay does not qualify for CPE credit.
