This workshop helps monitoring & evaluation practitioners support functions in their organizations by strengthening knowledge and skills within fundamental aspects of design and implementation.  Through group discussions and case study work, participants deepen their understanding of monitoring tools and approaches, data collection and analysis, effective evaluation approaches, communication strategies, and maximizing learning opportunities.

This workshop explores how the M&E process can strengthen program quality and accountability, as well as how donors’ objectives can often influence project learning, monitoring, and evaluation. You will learn how to:

  • Justify investments in M&E to drive stronger project planning, design, and implementation
  • Develop a project logical framework with clear goals, outcomes, outputs, and activities
  • Write clear, useful indicators
  • Evaluate data sources, data collection methods, and data quality
  • Identify the various types of evaluation methodologies and how to consider which, if any, to integrate into your project
  • Assess and employ methods to document, share, and disseminate learning throughout the project cycle​
