Colleen Striegel is the founder and Executive Director of HumanitarianHR. HumanitarianHR works to eradicate the sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment of vulnerable people by helping organizations develop the highest standards of protection. In doing so, HumantiarianHR strives to safeguard dignity and restore hope for those silenced in global development and aid settings. Colleen is a humanitarian aid professional with more than 17 years of experience serving in senior HR executive positions. Through her position of influence as a senior executive at an aid organization, she worked with national and international entities to develop safeguarding practices to protect vulnerable women and children from sexual exploitation and abuse. Through HumanitarianHR, she advises NGOs and UN agencies on safeguarding policy; conducts investigations on sexual exploitation, harassment, and abuse; leads workshops on the topic; and is an expert speaker on preventing sexual exploitation and abuse of displaced people by aid workers. Colleen has a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics, a Master of Arts in Human Development, and certifications as a senior HR professional (SPHR and SHRM-SCP).
