Humentum focuses on strengthening the operational and management capacity of organizations doing development work. We help you make better-informed decisions, avoid costly mistakes, and contribute to the success of your organization’s mission.
Our membership is made up of 300+ non-governmental organizations in the development and relief community that are working together to achieve global impact through a shared commitment to operational and organizational excellence. Staff members working in operations areas including finance, human resources, grants and contracts, and other areas share expertise, insights, and leading practices through membership with Humentum. Become a New Member
If you are an organization implementing projects or programs in the fields of global development or humanitarian aid, you may be eligible for Humentum membership under one of two membership categories: general NGO membership and local national NGO membership. Local national NGO membership is available if your organization is an autonomous, locally organized, and governed NGO registered in your country of origin. General membership applies to all other NGOs. Please contact us to initiate a conversation on your interest in membership, and someone from our membership team will be in touch. A membership application form will be sent to prospective members.
Renew Your Existing Humentum Membership
Humentum/Humentum membership renewal period is underway in fall 2017! As we start our new journey as Humentum, we aim to be your essential community by providing the knowledge, resources, solutions, and skills that your team needs to enhance operational excellence and deliver on your mission. Some of the highlights for 2018 include:
- Access to more than 300 workshops in 38 countries, plus advanced e-learning opportunities available for staff anywhere in the world
- Webinars on new topics relevant to your changing needs
- An expanded online member community with new communities of practice, including a DFID community group
- Additional opportunities for senior leaders to engage and collaborate, both in-person and virtually
- More roundtables in new locations in the US, UK, and East Africa providing a chance to share issues, ideas, and solutions
- New surveys, tools, and resources to empower your staff to achieve operational excellence
- Advocacy on issues of importance to our community

As we start our new journey as Humentum, we are still focused on delivering learning solutions that are appropriate, affordable, accessible, and actionable. Become a Sustaining Member
If you join Humentum or are already a member organization, consider becoming a Sustaining Member, a membership category that offers your organization an opportunity to support our community with a special, annual contribution in addition to your regular dues. Sustaining Membership increases our ability to offer beneficial services to support evolving needs and concerns across the membership and is a way to demonstrate your organization’s leadership in the international development community. If you are a company providing a service or product (e.g., accounting, software, insurance) to the NGO community you do not qualify for Humentum membership but may be eligible for affiliation under our Industry Partner Program.
Membership Year and Dues
Humentum’s member year is October 1 – September 30. Dues are calculated according to your annual expense budget. If you join between October 1 and March 31, the full annual dues rate applies. If you join between April 1 and August 31, dues are prorated at one half the annual dues for your initial member year. General member dues information for the current member year are here. We also offer a two-year renewal option to lock in your membership dues.

Membership with Humentum is organizational and any staff member of a member organization—no matter where they are located around the globe—is eligible for member benefits and services. Check our list of current members to find out if you are a member.
