Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Deputy Director of Resource Mobilization supports the Director of Resource Mobilization in leading the team responsible for creating new and renewed business with public and private sector donors (including bilateral, multilateral, and foundation donors). Contributes to achieving targets that grow and diversify the investment portfolio. Implements all systems and processes for business development, ensures proposal development is proactive and anticipatory, and forms part of a pipeline. Supervises members of the Resource Mobilization team.

Responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess the following requirements with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, international development, business administration).
  • Six (6) years of experience of resource mobilization/business development experience at a large-scale international development or global health organization.
  • Experience of internal relationship building and matrix management of individuals, teams, and departments.
  • Extensive understanding of the key donor programmatic and procurement environment including of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Department for International Development (DFID), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Bank, European Bilaterals, Global Affairs Canada (GAC), and other key stakeholders.
  • Technical knowledge or exposure to sexual and reproductive health (family planning, maternal and child health and rights).
  • Experience managing employees.
  • Able to design proposals, including oversight for the costing and pricing components.
  • Written communication skills, including technical and grant writing.
  • Oral communication skills, including technical speaking.
  • Uses knowledge of the organizational and political climate to solve problems and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to travel including to field offices based on business need approximately 15% or the equivalent of 8 weeks annually.

Country level senior resource mobilization experience.

Global experience living and working in a low or middle-income country.

Fluent in French (written and oral language).

Research skills.

Demonstrated training skills.

Proficient with online/electronic data reporting systems.

Proficient with Microsoft Office software
