WASHINGTON– Following our April announcement about Humentum CEO Tom Dente leaving the organization on July 31, we’d like to announce that Chris Proulx, Global Director of Membership Engagement and Learning, will be serving as Interim CEO, effective August 1.

As former CEO of LINGOs, one of the legacy organizations that formed Humentum, and a prolific learning and development professional committed to Humentum’s mission and vision, we’re confident Chris Proulx will be a strong leader for the organization while the Board Search Committee continues to recruit for the best possible successor to lead Humentum into its next chapter.

Chris will continue to be responsible for maximizing the reach, effectiveness, and impact of Humentum’s learning and certification products and services. He has additionally taken on membership engagement and will see after overall organizational strategy in this interim role.

Prior to joining Humentum via the merger in 2017, Chris joined LINGOs in 2014 as the CEO. In this role, he led the strategy for the organization, focusing his efforts on increasing the reach of current programs, establishing new partnerships that elevate learning and capacity building in our sector, and increasing the visibility and awareness of LINGOs’ work. Prior to joining LINGOs, Chris spent over twenty years working at the intersection of learning and technology, including serving as CEO of eCornell for ten years. As the leader of Cornell’s online learning company, he focused on growing new markets for the programs while also mainstreaming online education as a critical strategy for the faculty and academic leadership on campus. Chris launched his career in hospitality with Aramark and Discovery Zone after completing his Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.

"I look forward to working with the entire Humentum team and our global community to advance our collective work in the coming months," said Chris. "There is tremendous energy for finding common solutions to our most pressing challenges and I am eager to help guide that work."

As the board identifies new leadership, we look forward to continuing to expand the voice of our community in this time of sector transformation and deliver enhanced value utilizing our growing organizational, digital, and local capabilities. We value an inclusive search process and look to engage a diverse range of candidates who can lead us into the future.

Humentum is a global membership association providing training, convening, and support for organizations working for social good by strengthening capacities: managing compliance and risk, juggling finances, designing programs, and helping people perform at their best. Humentum was created in July 2017 from the merger of three well-established organizations: Mango, a UK-registered charity and social enterprise that specializes in financial management; InsideNGO, a Washington, DC-based member association of international NGOs; and LINGOs, a virtual not-for-profit capacity building organization specializing in eLearning. Humentum serves development, humanitarian, civil society, and other international social sector organizations with a focus on supporting operational excellence for its members.
