Humentum Announces 2019 Operational Excellence Award Winners at OpEx DC 2019: Growing Trust for Greater Impact

WASHINGTON – Humentum announced the winners of its 2019 Operational Excellence Awards during OpEx DC 2019 Humentum annual conference on Wednesday, July 10. The theme for this year’s conference is Growing Trust for Greater Impact. The Operational Excellence Awards recognizes four individuals or teams within the sector who are innovating, collaborating, and achieving impact through strong operations. Additionally, we recognize two other organizations with our Partner of the Year Award and Industry Award for a Humentum Industry Partner. The Partner of the Year Award celebrates a partner that has helped Humentum make a significant difference in strengthening the capacity of members and clients across the world.

The 2019 Humentum Operational Excellence Award winners were:

  • Rick Estridge, Gabby LaPointe, Shane Scanlon, Kelly Thompson; IRC PEERS Development Team
  • Bella Chih-Ning Hsu; Analytics and Applications Manager, Partners in Health (PIH)
  • Olya Catto; Managing Director and Linnae Fath; Project Operations at ACDI/VOCA
  • Marc Rahlves; Cheif Operating Officer, Nuru International

The 2019 Industry Award Winner went to Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman; award accepted by Robert Albrecht. The Honorable Mention Industry Award went to Allegiant Global Partners (AGP).

2019 Partner of the Year Award went to Speexx.

“These outstanding individuals and organizations deliver meaningful results in support of the missions of their organizations and in establishing new practices for the overall benefit of the sector,” said Humentum Chief Executive Officer Tom Dente. “Operational excellence is even more essential to enhancing trust, strengthening resilience, and sustaining impact in our current environment. We are delighted to recognize these outstanding individuals from our community.”

At last year’s annual conference, the Humentum Operational Excellence Awards replaced the InsideNGO Excellence Awards, which were established in 2010. This year’s winners were chosen from a field of nearly 40 nominations submitted by Humentum member organizations earlier this year. Nominators were asked to submit a detailed nomination explaining how their colleagues embodied operational excellence.

More than 1,100 development practitioners from nearly 200-member organizations attended Humentum’s annual conference at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center this year, making it one of the largest gatherings of professionals in the international development and humanitarian community in the U.S.
