An announcement from the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors announces that Tom Dente, the President and CEO of Humentum, has decided to leave the organization later this year.  We cannot thank Tom enough for the leadership, dedication, and passion he has given to Humentum and our community.

We have selected a Search Committee and retained  Russell Reynolds to help us find the best possible successor to lead Humentum into its next chapter. The Search Committee includes four members of our Board, including two whose organizations are long-time Humentum members, and I will chair it. We will be conducting this search over the next several months.

As we identify new leadership, we look forward to continuing to expand the voice of our community in this time of sector transformation and deliver enhanced value utilizing our growing organizational, digital, and local capabilities. We value an inclusive search process and look to engage a diverse range of candidates who can lead us into the future.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Tom for his many accomplishments since becoming CEO of InsideNGO and then Humentum, most notably leading the creation of Humentum. He has successfully brought this vision to reality – an integrated, global organization that has the potential to reach more learners, members, and clients than the three legacy organizations could alone. His development of Humentum’s strategy positions us to engage with even greater relevance and impact as we look ahead.   He will leave us with a vibrant global community that advances operational excellence for our sector by:

  • Increasing our membership and engagement by NGO operational leaders and expert practitioner around the world
  • Establishing new communities of practice from Senior Leader Forums to the INGO Impact Investing Network that share insights and strengthen practices
  • Reaching and connecting more organizations and individuals globally with online learning, virtual communities, and convening events
  • Developing Humentum’s strategy to develop capacity in essential operational capabilities through enhanced consulting, learning, convening and insight development
  • Expanding Humentum’s global team and network of affiliates and partners to better meet the needs of our future members

We are excited to do even more with our members, clients, and partners as we look ahead to our next chapter.

If you have any questions about our transition process, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly at or Tom at
