Birame Sarr has worked internationally in development and humanitarian assistance for more than 25 years in a variety of positions, including country director, deputy director of operations, and deputy director of programs. He has worked throughout East and West Africa, Central Europe, and most recently the Caribbean. He has led programs aimed to improve the well-being of people in difficult circumstances, as well as public and private institutions and community systems devastated by conflicts and natural disaster, always with a special focus on the most vulnerable and marginalized. Birame has been successful in grants management, project design, program planning, and budgeting. In addition to management and programming skills, he is trained as an accountant with a strong exposure to law, economics, and overall management. He is fluent in French and English. He has worked for organizations and companies in the United States, Ireland, Australia, Denmark, France, and Germany.
